Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.
Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. Thursday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. The rosary will be recited at 8:45 A.M.
Burial will be in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Joel, Keith, and Stephen Pierzchala, son Richard Pierzchala, nephews Joe Bialowas and Chet Bilows. Honorary pallbearer will be her son-in-law Ken Engel.
Born January 14, 1923 in Hrycowce, Poland, she was the daughter of Pawel and Jozefa (Sroka) Bialowas. She married Stanley “Stash” Pierzchala on January 13, 1946 in Landstuhl, Germany. They celebrated 51 years of marriage together. He preceded her in death on March 21, 1997.
She is survived by two daughters, Yadja (Ken) Engel of Petersburg and Josephine Lally of Gloucester, Massachusetts; a son, Richard (Dayna) Pierzchala of Elmhurst; grandsons, Joel, Keith and Stephen Pierzchala; a special cousin, Jean Pajak of Streator; nieces, nephews and cousins also survive in Poland and the United States.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Bruno (Stella) Bialowas and Lukasz (Zuzanna) Bialowas; a sister, Maria (Grzegorz) Ambroza of Poland; and a son in law, James Lally.
Viktoria and Stash immigrated to the United States in 1951 and made a home in Streator. They were proud to later become naturalized American citizens.
She was a member of the former St. Casimir’s Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church. She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Casimir’s and the Polish National Alliance.
She worked for Owens Illinois Glass Company until her retirement.
She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and cooking. Her family will greatly miss her wonderful Polish dishes. Her Catholic faith was very important to her as was her family. She was particularly proud of her three grandsons and their individual educational pursuits.
The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care for the special care they gave their mother through the years.
