Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be Jason Danko, Aaron, Christopher, Joseph and Peter Zink; Christian and Donavon Overly and Kain Smith.
Born July 27, 1924 in Merna she was the daughter of Thomas and Monica
(Hayes) Dalton. She married Louis R. Danko on October 23, 1948 at St. Patrick's Church in Merna.
She is survived by her husband Louis R. Danko of Streator; daughters, Sheila (Paul) Zink of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Joan Danko of Bloomington, Carolyn (Mike) Abdnour of Streator, Mary Traeger of Bloomington and Donna Danko of Bloomington; a son, Robert (Sue) Danko of Streator; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Louis R. Danko Jr., sisters, Monica Carmody, Florence Doner, Margaret Dalton and Eleanore Newmister; and brothers, Paul and Thomas Dalton.
Born in Merna she attended a country grade school and graduated from Towanda High School.
She worked through the years for State Farm Insurance, G.C. Murphy’s and Owens Illinois Glass Company. Lorraine was a homemaker most of the time.
She was a member of the former St. Stephen's Church and the Altar and Rosary Society of the church. She was currently a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. She was also a Lady Bakers and St. Anne's Society.
Lorraine was deeply devoted to her faith which was demonstrated by her love for her husband and family. No matter how she felt or health issues that arose, she was always there to listen, guide, and comfort. In her leisure time, she enjoyed taking walks, working on puzzles, reading, and giving her hubby and family "honey-do" lists. Her uncanny wit, forever open arms, and even her "honey-do list' will be greatly missed.
Lorraine's family would like to give special thanks to the Private Care Home and Pat Duffield who showed great compassion and care to Lorraine and her family. We were truly blessed to have them.
Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.

Julie and I want to express our deepest sympathies to Louis and the entire family. I have great memories of Lorraine growing up in the neighborhood, she was a Mom to all of us when we needed her. She was so kind to me and Julie when my father passed, it meant so much then and now. Lorraine and the family are in our prayers. May she Rest In Peace. Greg and Julie Palko
