Gregory A. Palaschak

Gregory A. Palaschak, 68, of Kinsman passed away Monday, October 4, 2021, at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood.
Born October 13, 1952, in Streator, Greg was the son of Richard and Gladys (Durdan) Palaschak. He married Tammy Tadej on October 3, 1998.
Greg is survived by his wife, Tammy Palaschak of Kinsman; a stepson, Ronald (Amy) Molaschi of Ransom; grandchildren, William Fossett and Natalie Molaschi; sisters, Mary (Chip) Pizzala of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, Teresa Italiano of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Julia (Abraham) Adger of Tampa, Florida; and a brother, Jerome Palaschak of New Orleans, Louisiana, along with admired nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Douglas Palaschak.
He attended St. Patrick’s Grade School and graduated from Seneca High School and Illinois Valley Community College. In his youth, he was active in both the Future Farmers of America and the 4-H club that formed his successful farming career.
Greg was a lifelong farmer in the Ransom, Kinsman and Streator areas. He assisted in the construction of the Ransom Grain Elevator. Greg loved spending his summers selling his sweet corn and other produce at his stands in Morris, Streator, and Ottawa and chatting with his customers. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus Council # 790.
Greg will be remembered for his big personality, love of big and fast machines, grilling, and a generous spirit. When Greg was present, good food and a lively round of card playing would surely follow.
Greg was given a second opportunity to embrace life like no other when he received a double lung transplant 10 years ago. He asked all to consider organ donations to save lives, as his life was saved.

Tammy.. so sorry for your loss. We will truly miss Greg. Loved his spirit and was always a favorite to us in Kinsman. Lots of memories with Greg since we were kinsmanites... Bill and Greg were practically neighbors their whole lives. Sincerely.. Billy and Kim and Girls.

What a beautiful obituary - Greg would be so proud of it !
We have had some good conversations at his vegetable (corn) stand, he was always so interesting and had given me the whole detail of his lung problem and we were so close to losing him at that time, he said had even bid fair well, just before the double lung transplant was to take place. I told him, well, the Good Lord was just not ready for you yet- - then came his hearty laugh, but he had a look of great satisfaction.
I have missed him at the stand.
So, you all have my sincere condolence - he will be missed.... Bernice
(Gladys, his Mom, was my first cousin.)

Tammy, Mary, Teresa, Julia, Jerry-my thoughts are with you today, on Greg's birthday, as he is laid to rest under the beautiful sunny October sky. I will always remember him with a big smile on his face and a quick joke to make others laugh. He was one of a kind. Love to all of you and your families.

What a wonderful, well written obituary. It gave such a strong image of who he was. His photo was great and the background photo of his farm was beautiful.
My deepest sympathy to the whole family. Carol Meyers of Tampa, FL. (Friend of Julia and Abe)
